The revenue from our delicious food products provides only about 65% of our operating budget. The additional 35% of the revenue that bridges the gap between the money we earn and the money we need comes from a diverse and generous group of funders, including foundations, businesses, individuals, churches and clubs. While our gourmet food business provides the context for our training and much of our financial support, we know that the comprehensive support services we offer are integral to the lifetime success of the women we serve. On-site mentoring, computer literacy classes, individual job coaching and life skills classes are just some of the additional services that Women's Bean Project offers in order to help women begin their journeys toward self-sufficiency. With your generous contribution, we can continue to offer these services to women who come from backgrounds of chronic unemployment or poverty.

Highlight: We are currently in need of an Electric powered LIFT STACKER with a 15-foot lift height and 3000 pounds lift capacity. Our women lift 50 pound bags of beans daily, and we move more than six thousand pounds of beans monthly from trucks to our warehouse, then to our production area. A lift stacker, in addition to making our operation more efficient, would provide another trianing opportunity for our women. As we are located in an Enterprise Zone, special tax credits would apply to your donation.

Enterprise Zone Colorado State Tax Credit
Receive a Colorado state tax credit for 25% the value of your gift over $500. The Urban and Rural Enterprise Zones were created by the Colorado State Legislature in 1986 as a tax incentive device. Intended to channel growth into needy areas, stimulate the economy, reward job creation and encourage private investment in business assets located within designated areas, the DUEDC is a corporation set up under the Denver Enterprise Zone Act. The Women's Bean Project qualifies for this program by providing job training and job placement services and by operating and promoting business within the Enterprise Zone.

Contributors to the programs within the Denver Urban Enterprise Zone benefit from a tax credit against their Colorado State income tax. For monetary donations, the credit is 25% of the amount given. For in-kind contributions, the credit is 12.5% of the value of the contribution.

Donations to the Women's Bean Project over $500 are eligible for the credit. We will send you the appropriate tax forms with your donation receipt. Gifts are fully tax deductible on both federal and state returns.
