What is the Women's Bean Project?
Since 1989, the Women's Bean Project has provided women with the opportunity to become economically independent by teaching basic job readiness skills and life skills through work in our on-site business.
Income from our business allows us to pay women a steady wage as they work in a safe, accepting environment and develop the skills and abilities needed to get and keep a job.
The program varies in length, lasting about 6 months, depending on each individual participant's progress in reaching "job readiness."
What do women learn here?
Basic job readiness skills such as a positive attitude and reliability, that are needed to get a job, stay employed and advance.

The first step is to fill out an application. Come to Women's Bean Project at 3201 Curtis Street, Denver, CO 80205 and complete a job application or click here to download the application. Complete the application and fax, Attention: Eme Barnes, to 303.292.9072 or drop off at Women's Bean Project, 3201 Curtis Street, Denver, 80205 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
When will I hear about an interview?

Program applications can also be picked up at our location and completed during your visit.

- Life skills such as problem solving, communication, and team work
- How to find resources to meet basic needs (housing, health, etc.)
- How to develop a good work ethic and self-confidence
Who is eligible?
To be eligible women must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Have a history of chronic unemployment
- Be low income (as defined by the Federal poverty guidelines)
- Be willing to work hard to learn job readiness skills
- Be willing to work 8:00-4:30 Monday-Friday
- Be willing to actively participate in all program activities
- Be able to lift 50 pounds and meet the physical requirements of the job
- Have been clean and sober for 6 months before intake

The Women's Bean Project is NOT:
- A long term job placement site
- A GED or computer tutoring program
- A training program that provides specialty job skills (like bookkeeping, nursing, etc.)
- A provider of substance abuse or mental health services
