Primo Volunteers at Women's Bean Project
Women’s Bean Project is fortunate to have the professional services of 9 terrific volunteers who serve as Job Coaches/Mentors. Beth, Betty, Cassie, Diane, Erin, Gail, Harriet, Marcella and Sandra bring expertise and experience in job coaching to the 3-4 program participants they mentor throughout each women’s stay in the program and beyond.
Job coaches meet with each woman frequently and help her deal with life challenges while focusing on a realistic career entry-level job. Coaches help participants prepare a resume and a background explanation letter as well as teaching interviewing skills through mock interviews. Coaches have agreed this year to follow up graduates after job placement to promote retention and ensure that “change sticks.”
Both staff and program participants benefit greatly from the skill and dedication of these dedicated volunteers as our program graduates are well-prepared to transition from the Bean Project to mainstream employment.
