The Colorado Columbines Women’s Running Club, the largest nonprofit women’s running club in Colorado, resurrected the Columbine Classic in 2013 and has chosen Women’s Bean Project as the beneficiary for the second year in a row! Please help us make this year’s event larger and stronger by attending the race on Sunday, May 3, 2015.
Columbine Classic is a unique race that offers distances of 4 miles and 8 miles. The race will be held at the beautiful Aurora Reservoir. The 8 mile race will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the 4-mile race will begin at 8:30 a.m. Both courses are USATF certified. A Sprouts Kids’ Fun Run will precede both races and a post-race festival will begin at 9:00 a.m.
NEW THIS YEAR! TEAM OPTION: Grab 6 or more of your closest friends, workout buddies, work colleagues, church group, book club or whoever you want – and form a TEAM. Details on discount pricing and sign up directions can be found here: Team Registration Instructions.
Since February, some of our program participants and staff have been training with the Colorado Columbines Women’s Running Club and are excited to take part in this year’s race and activities. We train every week (Thursday’s) around the Curtis Park neighborhood, leaving our facility at 32nd and Curtis at 4:30, so if you are interested in joining us, stop by…we would love to have you!
Come out and celebrate with us! We will have some Women’s Bean Project staff and program graduates running, walking and volunteering! Bring your family, friends and co-workers for a great time and to support Women’s Bean Project!
Don’t want to run or walk, but still contribute to a great cause? Then check out the “Sleep in for the Classic” option during the registration process. It still benefits the Bean Project!
Hope to see you in May!
