Walmart Empowering Women Together
Women’s Bean Project partnered with Walmart in 2013 as part of their Empowering Women Together Initiative, a Store For Good, and a dedicated space on Walmart.com that connects our products and other women-owned businesses around the world with U.S. consumers. Walmart’s hope is to provide these hard-working women, with opportunities to improve their own lives, while creating new jobs and enhancing the lives of their families and their communities. Each supplier in the Empowering Women Together program is a woman-owned business or an aggregator with the mission of supporting women-owned businesses.
Starting November 1, 2015 and running through the 2015 holiday season, customers in California, Colorado, Minnesota, New York and Pennsylvania can visit a Walmart store to purchase the Bean Project’s One Soup and Cornbread Gift Bundle. “Since 2013, Women’s Bean Project products have been available on Walmart.com. This is the latest development in a partnership with Walmart that has come out of their Empowering Women Together Initiative,” said Tamra Ryan, CEO of Women’s Bean Project. “We are thrilled to report that this order for Walmart stores has allowed us to hire more women than ever before in our transitional job training program. The work experience and life skills we provide at Women’s Bean Project help graduates go on to lead successful, self-sufficient and fulfilling lives.”
