I am a Mexican/American single mother of five. I love my children unconditionally and I will not give into the street life anymore. I terminated an abusive relationship and live nearby and saw that Women’s Bean Project was hiring. I filled out an application and soon found out that my neighbor had graduated the program. She told me how great the support was for her. I started June 13, 2015…my best day ever!
I have found myself again. The Bean Project has given me a stepping stone to freedom of myself not trying or believing. I have my voice back. I felt like I took my life back after I got away from my abuser and the Bean Project reminded me how to speak up for myself.
My goals are to maintain work stability by graduating the program, learn from every opportunity, teacher and staff. I want to make relationships that last for future references and earn every paycheck by working hard and doing my best.
I have found a brighter future here. Having employment has allowed me to be financially independent and make healthy changes for my children and myself.
Thank you to all the women at The Bean Project who are my greatest support.
