I must admit that I had a lot of hesitation before coming to Women’s Bean Project because I originally thought this program had something to do with the halfway house I live in, and I didn’t want anything to do with it.
After finding out that the Bean Project offered job skills and life skills that would help me, I decided to apply for a job and I am so glad I did!
Since being employed at Women’s Bean Project, I have earned my GED with the help of a weekly tutor and I am taking the steps to attend community college.
This place (WBP) has helped me so much and I am so thankful to be here.
For the first time, I have money saved and I’ve been volunteering at my local church, helping others in need. Within the next few weeks, I will be moving out of the halfway house and be reunited with my kids. I am still working on myself, but I now know the future looks bright.
