MSW Internships

The Master of Social Work intern will work directly with participants in our transitional employment program. Program participants are employed and earn a steady paycheck and receive supportive services to overcome barriers to employment through case management, life skills and job readiness classes, and community referrals. Women’s Bean Project offers a public way to address chronic unemployment, recidivism, welfare dependency and a host of other challenges. Participants in the program are overcoming a variety of barriers including incarceration, homelessness, substance use disorders, and domestic violence.

The social work intern will provide case management services to participants in our program. Interns will have an independent caseload and will meet with participants on a weekly basis to assist participants in accessing resources, addressing critical basic needs and barriers, and working with to set and achieve short- and long-term goals. Interns will develop curriculum and facilitate psycho-education groups with participants. Interns will take an active role in program facilitation, evaluation and research, development, and organizing and implementing an alumni group.
