I grew up in Crested Butte, a super small town where everybody knows everybody, and I ended up getting in a lot of trouble when I was younger. I found out I was pregnant in jail. I went through my jail sentence with him, and then I got out and had him. He saved me. He got me Sober.
When I first got to the Women’s Bean, I was nervous, super nervous and I couldn’t trust anybody, that was probably the biggest thing.
Something I really enjoyed with all the women here is they know you have a past, but they don’t push you for it. If you want to share it, they’ll listen. And if you don’t, that’s okay too.
Women’s Bean Project keeps me accountable for being able to do what I need to do and be the person I want to be. I have a good feeling about the future. I can plan for the future where before it was just moment to moment. I’ve found my love for learning again. A little bit of Women’s Bean will be with me for the rest of my life.
